I am going to go into details about the best juicer which is the Vitamix Cold Press to help you with the below question: "What are the pros and cons of an auto-juicer like the Vitamix?".
The Omega Juicers A5 vs. The 5000 Review
The Omega J8001 review for the A5 which is the automatic juicer by Omega was very simple. Since there was no comparison to make to any different juicers, I used these two juicers for this article. This is what the Omega juicer A5 looks like [image from juiceman.com]:
It has some capability from using a chopping disc as well as it has two speeds, high and low. As for the Omega J8001 it looks like this [image from juiceman.com]:
Its design is a lot different than the previous model and is still a masticating juicer.
For this article, I will go over some of the pros and cons of these two models. I will also compare these two models to the Vitamix model.
1. The Omega vs. The 5000
This is going to be a very easy point in this article…The Omega J8001 pulls out the juice slower than the Breville Slow Juicer 6000 and you can see this on the picture above. The Omega does not have a selection of speeds on the front of it, only one speed of low speed. The Omega model has less options than the Breville, also the option to select from wheatgrass or greens. Also there is no reverse function for the Omega A5 which makes it a little bit harder to clean up after juicing. Additionally, the Omega does not have one speed when it comes to juicing and you must twist two speeds on with the Breville. If you wanted to slow the juicer down, then you have to twist the low speed.
The Breville is a little better in terms of cleaning up the pulp and you can see this on the picture above. The Breville has a reverse function for juicing and masticating. The Breville does not have two speeds when it comes to juicing and only one speed with the reverse function on it.
The Breville has a bigger design and has the capability to use it for other things besides just juicing. The Breville 6000 is the only Breville model which can grind coffee for you, make baby food and nut butter, frozen desserts and much more. The Omega does not have this capability to make any of these foods other than just juicing vegetables, fruit, wheatgrass and leafy greens.
So in terms of design, power and what it can do, the Breville is a lot easier to use and has more options than the Omega.
2. The Vitamix vs. The Omega J8001 vs. The 5000
Now I want to go over some of the positives and negatives with each juicer and compare them to the Vitamix Juicer
The Vitamix has 10 speeds and the reverse button. You can see this on the picture above. The Omega does not have this capability.
The Omega does not have the options to make any frozen desserts, any baby food or anything else besides juicing vegetables and fruit. The Vitamix is capable of making a wide variety of foods as I mentioned above at item #1 in this section, "The pros and cons of an auto-juicer like the Vitamix?".
The Vitamix can make coffee for you. The Omega cannot make coffee for you.
The Breville can do all of the as I mentioned in the section above, "The pros and cons of an auto-juicer like the Vitamix?". The Breville also has a reverse button on it as well. So when I compared these three juicers, the choice was very obvious between which one I would choose.
3. The Omega vs. The 5000
This is one of the big differences between these three models and I am going to go over this with a lot more detail on this point. This is what I will take a closer look at
The Omega looks like a regular masticating juicer, the A5 has a chopping disc on it as well as an auger which are both directions the juice goes into the cup and makes it easier for you to clean up after juicing.
The Omega does not have reverse function on it. The Breville does, so when you are making your juice, all you have to do is twist two speeds for the Breville and make one final stop on the reverse button and that's it. The Breville has a lot more options than the Omega. The Omega does not have a selection of wheatgrass on the front of it and the selection for greens. The Breville does, so if you want to make your juice with wheatgrass in it, then you have to select that option before juicing. You can see this on the picture above with the Omega, there are no options at all.
The Omega is a little slower than the Breville in terms of how fast it juices. The Omega has a low speed and a high speed, it is possible to use the slow speed with wheatgrass on the Omega and this is what I would recommend you do. I will explain more of this in the conclusion below.
After reading all of these points above, there is no doubt in my mind that the Breville Slow Juicer 6000 has more options than both of these two models: The Vitamix Cold Press and The Breville. I also believe it juices a lot faster than both of these two models as well. The Breville is a little easier to clean up after juicing because of its design.
4. The Omega vs. The 5000
Another big difference between these two juicers is the price tag on them. You can see this on the picture above for both of them.
It has a little bit more capability than the Breville and the Vitamix, but it is still a masticating juicer. The Omega J8001 has 10 speeds on it as well as reverse and low speed. You can see this on the picture above.
